Clothing for cyclists gives DSM idea for improved cheese packaging

What do bicyclists and cheese have in common?

Their clothing, or in the case of cheese, packaging.

DSM Food Specialists, a global life sciences and materials sciences company based in the Netherlands, looked to the high-tech clothing today’s top cyclists wear during competition, and adapted the breathable yet wind-stoppable material to the world of cheese ripening.

The result is Pack-AgeTM, a revolutionary new cheese ripening solution that protects cheese while allowing it to ripen to perfection.

Corstiaan Hooft, global new business development manager of DSM Food Specialties, gave a presentation about Pack-AgeTM at the 2012 conference of the Institute of Food Technologists in Las Vegas.
